Most of us have made drinking a cup of hot tea as part of our daily routine. If you are not a big fan of coffee, you are most likely a tea addict. There are different kinds of herbal tea that benefit our health in many ways.
The medical benefits that come with tea are not a recent concept. It’s known that in history tea was used to increase alertness and focus of your brain.
Teas are brewed from the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant which include Green tea, black tea and oolong tea. Herbal teas, on the other hand, are made from dried flowers, fruits, spices and herbs.
1. Green tea
Green tea is known for its medicinal properties. It contains antioxidants that protect you against ageing and Alzheimer’s. It’s also known to slow the growth of tumour cells of cancer and disrupt the metabolism of cancer cells to impair growth.
2. Jasmine tea
Most people don’t know that the beverage “jasmine tea” has green as its base. This tea is known for keeping you mentally agile and improve your health relieving your stress. Its also known for its aroma and soothing smell that also helps regulate your mood.
3. Rooibos tea
Native to South Africa, has got similar characteristics to green tea. The antioxidant in Rooibos helps protect your liver. It also helps lower your blood pressure and relaxing your muscles
Hibiscus tea has more of a sour taste. You can make a nice hot cup of Hibiscus tea or use it to add a little more flavour to decorate dishes. Its health benefits include regulating blood pressure
5.Lemon verbena tea
A fusion of Verbena and lemon is the perfect drink if you are into more citrusy drinks. This might not be familiar to most as it is mostly sold as a weight-loss tea. It’s used as a treatment of obesity-related health issues.
